I used an ancient version of Photoshop to create the rainbow and clouds, as that's what I happen to have on my computer, then I designed everything in Microsoft Publisher. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053578157105797710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7327056886902183109.post-69475270266557320872014-04-19T16:25:57.378-04:002014-04-19T16:25:57.378-04:00Hi! Thanks for your comment and question! Hmm......Hi! Thanks for your comment and question! Hmm...let's see if I can remember! I know I used to boxes of cake mix, and divided each box into 3 equal parts. If I remember correctly, I decreased the liquid to be added to the mix and added different things to each of the 6 parts for the colors. Purple was blackberries, blue was blueberries, green was spinach juice, yellow was egg yolks, orange was carrot juice, and pink was raspberries. I believe I used only the egg whites in the blue, purple and pink layers, so that the yellow of the yolk wouldn't muddy the colors. Does that all make sense?? Let me know if you have any other questions!Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053578157105797710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7327056886902183109.post-39901187477318375652014-04-19T16:20:13.665-04:002014-04-19T16:20:13.665-04:00Hi Linda! I designed everything myself, so no clip art was used. :)Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053578157105797710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7327056886902183109.post-13943242881426442522014-04-19T16:18:50.578-04:002014-04-19T16:18:50.578-04:00Hi Alisha - thanks for your comment! I kept putting off making the rainbow ...Certainly! I kept putting off making the rainbow limbo stick, because I was having a hard time deciding how to go about it. So with limited time (and limited funds!), it ended up being sort of last minute what-do-I-have-around-the-house-that-I-can-make-this-out-of sort of thing. The straight piece at the bottom of the rainbow is actually just a yardstick wrapped with crepe paper. For the other colors of the rainbow, I cut strips of cardboard approximately the same width as the yardstick, with each one being a little longer than the previous. I then scored the cardboard every inch or so to help it curve. The cardboard was a little flimsy on its own, so I found some heavy gauge wire and taped it to the underside of each cardboard strip for stability. Then I wrapped each cardboard strip with the crepe paper, lined them all up on top of the yardstick in rainbow order, and taped the ends together with clear packing tape. Does that make sense? If you have any questions, let me know. :)Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053578157105797710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7327056886902183109.post-53436097226651833922012-09-26T20:28:03.040-04:002012-09-26T20:28:03.040-04:00I love the idea for the limbo stick!! My husband and I seem to be in a disagreement with how to make one for my daughter's birthday this weekend. Thank you. As for the roses, they are already dyed when we get them at the florist shop, but from what I gather, they slit the bottom of the stem on one side and put it in one color, then repeat for the other two. If you look at the bottom of the stems, you can see that one third is pinkish, one third is yellowish, and the other third is blueish. They are certainly interesting and a conversation starter! :)Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053578157105797710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7327056886902183109.post-31302337364223568772012-09-07T21:56:57.967-04:002012-09-07T21:56:57.967-04:00How did you dye those roses?
